    SOCHI 2014

Who was able to watch the TV and see the Biathlon 15 km mass start in Sochi, has surely seen some Sherpas used for compacting the fresh snow, just some minutes before the competition starts.

Among many different grooming attachments used by the olympic staff, some of the Sherpas were pulling also some plastic rollers (not an Alpina product, for information).

They used some of the volunteers as “ballast-men” to increase the snow compaction.

Now you know why those fellows were standing behind the rollers, waving their arms to greet the spectators; not for their own celebrity!
