    The peak of the Apennines

    Gran Sasso

Campo Imperatore, at an altitude of 2,130 meters above sea level, is located in the heart of the Gran Sasso d’Italia massif, the peak of the Apennines, which reaches an altitude of nearly 3,000 meters above sea level.
This area is among the snowiest in Italy, and its cable car connecting the ski area to the city of L’Aquila is one of the longest in Europe.
